We are a public-private development bank, with the Dutch government as our major shareholder, holding a 51% stake. Other shareholders include the large Dutch banks (42%), employers' associations, trade unions and individual investors. We comply with internationally accepted banking standards and are supervised by the Dutch Central Bank. We have an AAA rating from Standard & Poor's.
As the entrepreneurial development bank, we continuously seek new ways to create access to capital, and think with our clients to come up with innovative structures that will enable us to finance change.
Based in The Hague, we work with a global network of selected partners to realize our mission. These include commercial banks, other development finance institutions, local entrepreneurs and financial institutions in the countries where we are active, as well as private equity fund managers. Each partner brings vital knowledge and expertise to transactions − either sector-specific or local market insight.
