Privacy

Your privacy is important to FMO. Therefore, we will process your personal data with care.

This privacy statement will explain which personal data we collect from you, with which purpose, who we share this personal data with and how we secure it. This privacy statement applies to website visitors, registrants to our events and job applicants.

What is personal data?

Personal data is any data that can identify an individual. Someone is identifiable if his or her identity can be established without disproportionate effort. Both data used to directly identify a person (such as name and address) as data used to indirectly identify a person (pseudonymous data, IP addresses etc) count as personal data.

Personal data processed by FMO

FMO processes different categories of personal data in the course of its business activities. We collect personal data through the contact form and complaint form on our website. We also collect personal data via our events module. In addition, if you agree to this, we place cookies in your web browser. Below we inform you briefly what information we collect and for what purpose.

Cookies

A cookie, also known as an HTTP cookie, web cookie, or browser cookie, is usually a small piece of data sent from a website and stored in a user's web browser while a user is browsing a website. When the user browses the same website in the future, the data stored in the cookie can be retrieved by the website to notify the website of the user's previous activity. Cookies were designed to be a reliable mechanism for websites to remember the state of the website or activity the user had taken in the past. This can include clicking particular buttons, logging in, or a record of which pages were visited by the user even months or years ago. Third parties, such as Doubleclick.net, Google Analytics and AddThis, may change cookies or issue cookies other than those listed below.

When visiting the websites of FMO, the following cookies are being stored:

Google Tag Manager

Google Tag Manager is a tag management system that allows you to quickly and easily update tags and code snippets on your website or mobile app, such as those intended for traffic analysis and marketing optimization. The tag management system reduces errors and frees FMO from having to involve a developer when configuring tags.

Google Analytics

FMO uses Google Analytics, a web analytics service provided by Google, Inc. (“Google”). Google Analytics uses “cookies” to help FMO analyse how users use our site. The information generated by the cookie about your use of the website (including your IP address) will be transmitted to and stored by Google on servers in the United States. Google will use this information for the purpose of evaluating your use of the website, compiling reports on website activity for FMO and providing other services relating to website activity and internet usage. Google may also transfer this information to third parties where required to do so by law, or where such third parties process the information on Google's behalf. Google will not associate your IP address with any other data held by Google.   Google and all its subsidiaries, such as Google Analytics and Doubleclick, abide by the EU-US Privacy Shield.

Social media buttons

On our website (Annual Report and Funds) we provide you with buttons in order to share a webpage on social networks such as Twitter and Facebook. These 'share' buttons are images which redirect you to a sharing page, no scripts are loaded by default.
Only when you navigate away from our site to the social media share pages these sites will place codes and/or a cookie on your hard drive. We have no control over this code or cookie and thus refer you to their policies (which change frequently).

However, as far as we are aware, the information collected through these cookies is, or is made, anonymous and transferred to the respective issuer of the cookie.

For your convenience, we have provided links to certain third party web sites. If you choose to visit a third party's site, please be aware that the third party's privacy policy, and not FMO's, will govern your activities and any information you disclose while visiting the third party's site.
